I'm not sure why, but I do love the Foam Soap feeling in my hands!
There is some type of luxurious feeling about washing your hands with foam soap... maybe it is just me, but I do love that feeling. However, no matter how much I do like foam soap, I couldn't help but notice that it cost about double the amount of money compared to the same ounces of regular soap! ... So, the Frugal girl in me can't stop wondering why that is, when it seemed to me that it was just diluted soap, with a fancier cap!
So here I go, on my way to figure out if I was right or wrong! What did I do? I started experimenting with my regular refill soap, diluting it with water, to see if I could get the same results! Trust me, I got couple of combinations that did not work at all, but I finally got it right! And guess what? I was right all along, it is just regular refill soap, diluted with water . . . so why would you pay double the money?
So please, the next time you are running out of foam soap, Keep The Dispenser, and PREPARE your own!, You'll save tons!
It's SO simple:
How much can you can SAVE?
The average soap/foam soap container is 8oz. One 56 oz. Equate Soap Refill bottle is approx. $4.88 at Walmart, so you can make 14-8oz. containers of foam soap out of each Soap bottle. This means you only pay 35¢ per container!!!!
*Depending on how you prefer the consistency of the foam soap, you can make the mix a littler thinner and save even more. To do this, use only 1 part soap, to two parts water instead. I personally prefer half and half, but if you have tiny kids, making it thinner will save you tons, as kids tend to use way more soap than needed when they wash their hands.
Happy Savings! ☺
