Did you know that many people prefer to save without using paper coupons?
For most frugal people it is all too well known that using Manufacturer’s Coupons are one of the most accessible and easiest ways to save on grocery shopping. It is like someone giving you cash to go grocery shopping, or like finding a $20 bill on your way to the grocery store; you would pick it up and use it, right? At least, that’s how I see coupons.
However, not everybody likes couponing . . . and that’s okay. Luckily, there are many other ways to save, and this is a list of the most common and easy ways to save on your purchases, groceries or not:
I'm a big [strike that], I'm a HUGE user of antibacterial/disinfectant spray cleaner.
I use it constantly, and in such a liberal way that I can easily go through several bottles a month, as I use it everywhere around the house, wherever there's need to clean and disinfect.
From the kitchen, to the bathrooms, to floor spills, to carpet spot-cleaning . . . you name it! That means that buying a good quality disinfectant spray can be quite expensive, as they cost anywhere from $2 to $2.50 each.
So what do I do to save every month?
It's been said too many times over and over again, that quality time spent with the people you love is what really counts and matters! The more it's said, the more it starts to sound like a cliché to your ears, however, nothing steers closer to the truth than these phrase!

Doing the laundry is not anyone's favorite pastime. It happens to be that doing the laundry is NOT really one chore, as it disguises with many, many other chores in itself. You have to sort, you wash, you dry, you fold, THEN you have to put them away, AND there are always items that need ironing!

There is no secret to the fact that having beautiful pictures on your blog posts is the key to social media engagement. Adding beautiful images to your posts is a must if you want to have successful results, and have your followers and visitors sharing your post all over their social media.
Everybody is drawn to beautiful images because they entice all senses, in addition to summarizing the whole concept of your post in one simple glance. To me, personally, it goes like this: "if I like what I see, I'll read it".
Surveys show that posts with images get shared a whooping 87% more that posts with no images at all, so indeed it is major component of a successful post. Crazy enough, many people share posts, just because they fall in love with the image, even if they did not completely read it.
DON'T Throw Away Your Expired Store Coupons . . . YET!
It all really started by pure accident one day at Dick's Sporting Goods many years ago. I was buying soccer items for our kids, and I was so happy about the very good coupons I had with me! I was about to get the deal of the year, because they accept a combination of qualifying coupons on the same purchase!
When the cashier asked me if I had any coupons (a question that you rarely get from anyone at any store, ever) I happily said, yes I do! To my dismay, when I pulled the coupons out, I just noticed that they were expired by exactly one day! I almost cried, because it is quite pricey to buy regular-priced at their store. Sadly, I said: I thought I did , but they expired yesterday . . .
That's when he said: "Oh, don't worry, we can still take them" . . . the most beautiful words I have ever heard from a cashier!
And, from that day on . . .

When Saving Is A Struggle To You . . .
There is no secret or disagreement in the fact that saving is a crucial part on creating a healthy financial environment. Either you are family making $30 or $300 thousand a year, you simply cannot go on spending every cent you make . . . eventually, you'll go into deep debt facing major financial distress.
Savings are vital for more than one purpose, but all those reasons summarize to one: to keep us out of debt by being able to pay in cash for certain things (especially emergency situations), rather than having to charge a credit card. However, in spite of the importance of having a savings account, many people simple don't know how to save . . . others don't even think about it.
Does this subject hit home to you? Do you know the importance of having a savings account, but don't seem able to accomplish it? Do you know someone in this situation?
If saving seems to be an impossible task for you to accomplish, these are useful ideas that will help you get started on your path of becoming an avid saver!
Refilling, Recycling, and Saving Money!
Oh, bottled water . . . one thing that everyone loves, not only because of the health benefits of drinking water, but also because of its grab-and-go convenience that actually encourages drinking more water, and . . . let's admit it, it is trendy, and makes us look cool while holding one!
I do too love bottled water, but the frugal girl in me refused to pay for it, especially when I do have a water filter integrated in my refrigerator, making buying bottled water defeat the purpose of having one.
To my daughter on her graduation!
[A personal moment, shared with my readers]
I just can’t believe that tomorrow my baby girl is graduating from high school! No matter how hard I try to understand it, I really can’t. When did this happen? All I know is that I just blinked, and my little baby girl is now an all grown up and beautiful young woman, ready to end a chapter in her life, and embrace a completely new one . . . on her own . . .
Having a nice pile of coupons on your way to the grocery store is a great way to start your couponing experience, but don't stop there. With a little extra organization, effort, and tips, you can maximize the value of your coupons!
Here are some Fantastic Tips!
Who does not love the look of Stainless Steel appliances?
Stainless steel appliances are THE THING these days. They are super stylish, they give your kitchen a beautiful contemporary look, and they are way more affordable than when the style was originally introduced! Almost everyone loves them!
Unfortunately, it can be a little challenging to keep them clean-looking, as every single fingerprint or smudge shows on their surface, though some brands offer now the option of smudge-free surface, at an extra cost.
Even though my blog is not directly focused on money & finances, as an accountant, I do understand the importance of this subject. So I decided to post occasional articles dedicated to this topic, starting with the importance of having a budget.
The definition of budgeting is: “to allow a specific amount of money for a specific purpose.” It is as simple as it sounds; you allocate how much money you can spend on each expense you have.
Though it is a rather simple task, it is an extremely powerful tool as it gives you a clear visual perspective of how much you have available in income, how much you can spend, and where you can or not spend it. In other words, a budget is how you monitor where your money is going, and without it is like hitting that piñata while blindfolded, you are just guessing where to hit.
So, no matter if you make $25,000 or $250,000 a year, create a budget, to make sure you are in complete control of your finances!
Who doesn't love a delicious homemade cake?
There is nothing better than that delicious smell and taste of Mom's homemade cake. However, the truth is that no matter how much we love that experience, not everyone (including me) is that good at baking!
So if you are like me, to spare myself from a disappointment at my baking skill results, I simply use boxed mixes whenever I want to bake my 'own' cake at home.
Most of this boxed cakes are really delicious, but I discovered that with a couple of extra little tricks, I was able to make the mix taste even better! What do I do?
Do you love to find new uses for things that you already have?
I don't know if you feel the same way, but I looove when I discover great new uses for things that I already have, or things that are about to hit the recycling bin.
Sometimes, we think so hard about recycling that we stop being creative to reuse and/or repurpose simple things around the house!
This is a simple meat wrapping mesh, but it's not only that, it's a great idea that will save you time and money.
One day, I looked at this item, and I said "wow, I can use that"! I've been doing this trick for years, and it works great, and now that I have my Blog, I want to share it with you!
Don't we all hate when we forget or do not have the time to remove the freshly dried laundry from the dryer?
When laundry cycle ends, items are still very warm, and that's when they should be removed. When we let them sit there, as the fabric cools down, wrinkles start to form.
Most of the times we either forget, or do not have the time to remove the items right away, and by the time we get to do it, we end up folding or hanging items that are all wrinkled-up.
Personally, I can't stand doing that, or much less, iron things that I normally don't. Who has time for ironing every single item, anyway?
So this is how I get rid of the wrinkles formed in the dryer . . .
I'm not sure why, but I do love the Foam Soap feeling in my hands!
There is some type of luxurious feeling about washing your hands with foam soap... maybe it is just me, but I do love that feeling. However, no matter how much I do like foam soap, I couldn't help but notice that it cost about double the amount of money compared to the same ounces of regular soap! ... So, the Frugal girl in me can't stop wondering why that is, when it seemed to me that it was just diluted soap, with a fancier cap!
So here I go, on my way to figure out if I was right or wrong! What did I do? I started experimenting with my regular refill soap, diluting it with water, to see if I could get the same results! Trust me, I got couple of combinations that did not work at all, but I finally got it right! And guess what? I was right all along, it is just regular refill soap, diluted with water . . . so why would you pay double the money?
So please, the next time you are running out of foam soap, Keep The Dispenser, and PREPARE your own!, You'll save tons!
It's SO simple:
Do you have Emergency Contact in your cellphone?
Almost every cellphone comes with an Emergency Call screen that allows you to call 911, and I think this is a wonderful feature. However, I truly believe that this screen should be accessible to the phone owner so that s/he can set at least one personal contact number for an emergency or lost phone case.
Unfortunately that's not the case, and this feature has been locked by the cellular companies, and my best guess is that this has been done on purpose, probably to create and sell apps that offer this feature, and/or the purchase of future phone models that will probably have this option available.
Don't you hate when you run out of space in your freezer?
Everybody does! Especially people that like me do not enjoy going too often to the grocery store, so when I go, I buy for at least two weeks' worth of meals, and occasionally, even a more.
All modern refrigerators are designed to be space-efficient, but when you buy lots of items, even those refrigerators become short in space, especially the freezer . . . but the truth is that there is really more space than you though!
Don't you hate when you run out of your favorite perfumed body lotion, and this is all that you get when you squeeze the tube?
I hate the feeling, especially when the lotion is part of your expensive designer perfume set that includes the shower gel, the body lotion, and the perfume . . . just the perfect combination!
And forget about buying the body lotion by itself, because in many occasions it costs more than the perfume!
Well, if you are ready to throw that tube away . . . don't do it YET!
Who does not love to end end up with amazingly great-smelling clean laundry?
I can't imagine anyone that that will answer no to that question. All of us do!
That's why to get this great result, some people buy both, the liquid Fabric Softener that works during the wash, PLUS the Dryer Sheets that work during the drying cycle, to ensure that the laundry really ends up smelling terrific . . . or NOT!
In fact, when you do that, you are actually buying the same product twice, as they are really designed to be used either or, not both!
Do you have some of these cups at home?
WHO doesn't love them? They are cute, versatile, trendy, kind of fashionable, and inexpensive too!
Somehow, however, my home has been invaded by them. It started with one, then three, then it got a little out of control, because even Dollar Stores started selling beautiful ones... so by now it is kind of a collection!!!!
While I love the fact that they help control accidental spills at any age, it got to the point that it was either, throwing them away, or finding an easy way to really clean them, as I had the suspicion that there was quite a bit of dirt hiding underneath the plastic lining of the lid, and inside the straw.
So . . . one day I am staring at five of these cups, thinking how to really clean them, and somehow, it just came up to me!
