Do you have some of these cups at home?
WHO doesn't love them? They are cute, versatile, trendy, kind of fashionable, and inexpensive too!
Somehow, however, my home has been invaded by them. It started with one, then three, then, it got a little too many of them because even Dollar Tree started selling beautiful ones... so by now it is kind of a collection!!!!
While I love the fact that they help control accidental spills at any age, it got to the point that it was either, throwing them or finding an easy way to really clean them, as I had the suspicion than there was quite a bit of dirt hiding underneath the plastic lining of the lid, and inside the straw.
So . . . one day I am staring at five of these cups, thinking how to really clean them, and somehow, it just came up to me!
You'll be a little surprise to see all the dirt that can accumulate inside the straw. which normally just gets rinsed off, and under the lid's plastic liner!
With just a little extra step, you can make sure that both items get completely clean, and free of hidden dirt. Simply:
This is not a hard task at all, it will only take you just one extra minute, and you'll be grateful you do it. Depending on how much the cups get used on a daily basis, doing this once a week should be good enough to keep all the mold and dirt accumulation away. If the cups get used a lot, especially if they are used for milk, you might want to do this a least twice a week!
