Refilling, Recycling, and Saving Money!
Oh, bottled water . . . one thing that everyone loves, not only because of the health benefits of drinking water, but also because of its grab-and-go convenience that actually encourages drinking more water, and . . . let's admit it, it is trendy, and makes us look cool while holding one!
I do too love bottled water, but the frugal girl in me refused to pay for it, especially when I do have a water filter integrated in my refrigerator, making buying bottled water defeat the purpose of having one.
So just like that, I decided that I was going to stop buying bottled water, and start refilling my own bottles using my own filtered water from the refrigerator.
Doing this can be a little tricky, especially, if you are reusing regular water bottles, which have a very narrow opening. So to make the refilling absolutely easy, all you need to do is use a plastic funnel!
. . . as simple as this!
Place the funnel on the water bottle, and use the funnel itself to press against the water dispenser button! Make sure you use a plastic funnel, preferable with rounded edges, as any metal or sharp edge could cause damage to the button.
Viola... there you have it, a little trick that will help you:
Pack healthier snacks
So keep some of those plastic bottles you are about to throw away, refill them, and reuse them! After you are done drinking the water, simple place the empty bottle in the dishwasher; they resist the dishwasher very well!
What tricks do you use in the kitchen that help you save time and money! I would love to hear from you on the comments below!
