Do you love to find new uses for things that you already have?
I don't know if you feel the same way, but I looove when I discover great new uses for things that I already have, or things that are about to hit the recycling bin.
Sometimes, we think so hard about recycling that we stop being creative to reuse and/or repurpose simple things around the house!
This is a simple meat wrapping mesh, but it's not only that, it's a great idea that will save you time and money.
One day, I looked at this item, and I said "wow, I can use that"! I've been doing this trick for years, and it works great, and now that I have my Blog, I want to share it with you!
We all have all those little items like water bottle caps, and tiny measuring spoons; or items that might not be so little, but are very light, and fly all over the dishwasher when we put them in . . . well not anymore!
This is the Best Idea to accommodate all those small items, and put them in safely in the dishwasher without them flying all around! And the best part?, it's free.
All you need is a meat wrapping mesh like the one above. Mine is from a Butterball turkey. I prefer the plastic ones like this one, but some are made out of a fabric-type material.
Some meshes have bigger spaces than others, so you can save different sizes, as you prefer.
All you need to do is, place all your small items inside the mesh bag, and close the top with a wire tie or a plastic clasp.
. . . AND place the closed mesh, with all the items inside, on the top rack of your dishwasher, and wash using the setting you normally use.
Viola, that all there's to it! Now all your small items will stay in place throughout the whole washing cycle, and you won't have to fish them around, or ever worse, lose them because they got ruined with the heating divise... (it happened to me many time before).
It was great to share this post with you! Did you find it useful? Do you have any tips to wash small items in the dishwasher? I'd love to hear them from you on the comments below!
